About Me

Me as of March 2019

My name is Ehren Elizabeth Grunewald. I was born in New Orleans (Metairie, to be exact). I live in North Carolina, however, where words like “dressed” and “bayou” are totally useless. I still, however, regularly use terms like “dodo,” and “lagniappe,” so my lexicon is in a slight limbo… until my next visit, at least!

I have always had an interest in movement, specifically, any movement that emphasizes precision of execution, using your body as an aesthetic. It is probably the first interest that I developed that seemed to also fit what my natural talents were. Ultimately, dance and martial arts have the disciplines I studied most extensively, but I have also dabbled other pursuits, such as diving and tumbling.

I think the feeling of satisfaction it has always given me can be best summed up by late Formula One racing great Ayrton Senna: “On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, ‘Okay, this is the limit’. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.” The feeling of pushing my body to the limit and being able to do something I couldn’t do before — that was always the best part of the journey for me.

I have found in the last year, however, that the key to truly looking and feeling my best comes from a close relationship with God and a wellness regimen based around essential nutrients, all naturally occurring and thus all created by God. Though I am not above a cheat day here and there (I still love my sno-balls and beignets!), this will always remain a central focus to getting the most out of this life that God has given to me.

I enjoy teaching what I learn, and encouraging others.
